Days of Action for the Water.
International Day of Action for Rivers
March 14
The International Day of Action for Rivers is a day dedicated to solidarity – when diverse communities around the world come together with one voice to say that our rivers matter.
Rivers are the arteries of the earth, supporting the highest rate of biodiversity compared to any other ecosystem and providing for the livelihoods of millions of local, indigenous and traditional peoples. Rivers are also under extreme threat, with less than 10% of the world’s river basins protected.
World Water Day #WWD2023
March 22
This World Water Day is about accelerating change to solve the water and sanitation crisis. And because water affects us all, we need everyone to take action. That means you!
WWD 2023 is part of the UN 2023 Water Conference – the first event of its kind for nearly 50 years and the movement towards implementing the Water Action Agenda and the Indigenous Declaration on Water.
This is a once-in-a-generation moment for the world to unite around water.

National Holy Wells Day
June 14
There are more than 3,000 Holy Wells in Ireland. These places have long been considered sacred for healing and connecting to the divine. That tradition continues in many ways as we visit and tend our local wells. Let’s make this an International Day of Holy Wells!
Visit All is Well for ideas on how to honor this national heritage through well clean-ups, walking the rounds and other ways to build community around our sacred wells.
Global Water Dances
June 10th 2023!
Global Water Dances celebrates water and life through the art of dance. In parallel, we are aware that environmental actions are needed to make visible the water issues our world is facing right now. How our local choreographers worked to achieve this goal? Here some examples.
Global Water Dances next Global Event is in 2023 but let’s not wait to dance for the Water. Making water dances a part of our daily lives and practice is one beautiful way to center water in our lives.
Past Events
Súil an Craic
In association with the All is Well initiative, our 2020 pilgrimage involved restoration and cleaning of ancient holy wells along the way, allowing Water to lead our path and remind communities of the importance of water care.
We visited meaningful ancient sites, seeking to boost interest in lore and heritage, engaging with local communities to encourage indigenous tourism, fostering awareness about the state of our ecology, providing opportunities for guest experts to share their knowledge along the way… and ah, sure, have some craic while we’re at it.
